BRENDA WELSH
Brenda Welsh is right in the center of the Los Angeles art scene, creating from her hill top studio in Los Feliz. Her life experiences, her love of music and her extensive travels throughout the world are vividly reflected in her paintings.

From the time she held her first crayon or dipped into finger paints, Brenda’s artistic talents continued to evolve both technically and creatively. She studied at the Corita Art Center while in high school and in college selected Art for her minor. She began painting portraits in the 1970’s and her unique style and use of india ink gained her a strong local following. However, it was her successful and demanding corporate career that became the focus of her endeavors for many years.

In 2002 Brenda elected to pursue her art full time. Today, she’s prolific in her studio creating with a variety of styles and subject matter. Her portraits reflect the essence of world cultures and the hopes and challenges of people with very different journeys. You’re suddenly involved when viewing one of her more whimsical depictions of a contemporary happening and her abstractions take you “outside the lines”, inviting interpretations without boundaries.

Brenda works with a wide range of media including watercolor, india ink, acrylic and collage, often and unconventionally combining media to achieve unique results. She continues her Art studies from The Masters to exploring new media and techniques with contemporary artists. While her paintings are on exhibits primarily in Southern California, her art hangs in private homes and prominent offices throughout the country.
